Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Introduction
BeaverPlot ("the App") is operated by Glucoplate Inc., a corporation incorporated under the federal laws of Canada ("we", "us", or "the Company"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) of Canada.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
2. Information We Collect
Scan Data: Room scans are processed on your device using Apple's RoomPlan API. LiDAR data and generated models are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers unless you initiate an export or use an AI feature.
Export Processing: When you export a scan to IFC, DXF, or PDF format, the parametric room data (dimensions and layout — not raw LiDAR point cloud data) is sent to our processing server for file generation. This data is used only for the purpose of conversion and is automatically deleted from our servers shortly after you download the file.
AI Features: AI Reports and Home Inventory are off until you turn on AI Processing (a toggle you agree to the first time you use an AI feature, and can switch off anytime in Settings). Only then are the photos and notes you submit sent to Google's AI to build an editable draft; they are not retained afterward. With AI Processing off, no photos or notes leave your device for AI.
Device Attestation: We use Firebase App Check for device attestation to help prevent API abuse. This process verifies that requests come from a genuine app installation and is not used to collect personal information.
Usage & Diagnostics: We use Google's Firebase Analytics (without advertising-identifier support) and Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to diagnose crashes and errors. These tools collect app-usage events, a pseudonymous app-instance identifier, and device and diagnostic information (such as device model, operating-system version, and crash logs); they do not collect advertising identifiers. You can turn usage analytics off at any time in Settings, and it is off by default in the EEA and UK until you choose to turn it on. Crash reporting runs to keep the App reliable and secure. We use this information to improve and support the App; we do not use it to identify you personally, sell it, or use it for advertising.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not ask you to provide, and we do not sell:
- Contact details such as your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address (the App does not require an account)
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Raw LiDAR point cloud data (only parametric dimensions are sent when you export)
We do not sell your information or use it for third-party advertising. Photos are only involved when you choose to use an AI feature (see Sections 2, 5, and 6), and product-usage and diagnostic data is limited to what is described in Section 2.
4. Purpose of Collection and Consent
In accordance with PIPEDA, we collect and process information only for the following identified purposes:
- File conversion: To convert your parametric scan data into exportable formats (IFC, DXF, PDF) when you explicitly request an export
- API security: To verify that requests originate from genuine app installations via device attestation
By initiating an export, you consent to the temporary transmission of parametric data to our servers for the sole purpose of file conversion.
5. Data Storage and Retention
On your device: All scan data, project files, and exported files are stored locally on your device. Exported files are saved to a visible folder accessible via the iOS Files app.
On our servers: Parametric data sent for export processing is stored temporarily on secure infrastructure (Railway hosting with Cloudflare R2 storage) and is automatically deleted shortly after the file is downloaded to your device, with automated cleanup as a backstop. Photos and notes submitted for AI Reports or Home Inventory are processed to generate the draft and are not retained by us afterward. We do not keep copies of this data on our servers longer than needed to provide the requested feature.
6. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
- Firebase App Check (Google) — Device attestation to help prevent API abuse; not used to collect personal information.
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google) — Product-usage analytics and crash diagnostics, as described in Section 2.
- Cloudflare R2 — Temporary encrypted file storage for export and AI processing.
- Google (Gemini API) — When you use AI Reports or Home Inventory, the photos and notes you submit are sent to Google's AI service to generate the draft, governed by Google's API terms and privacy policy. We do not retain them after the result is returned to you.
Each third-party service maintains its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect data during transmission and processing, including encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information
- Withdraw consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information
We do not require an account or collect contact details such as your name or email, so we hold little information that identifies you directly. Scan data, project files, and inventories are stored on your device and can be deleted by removing them in the App or uninstalling it. Analytics and diagnostic data collected through Firebase is pseudonymous; you can contact us to ask about, or request deletion of, data associated with your app installation, and you can limit some of this collection through your device settings.
European Economic Area & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR): If you are located in the EEA or the UK, you also have the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. We rely on your consent for usage analytics and AI features (which you can withdraw at any time in Settings) and on our legitimate interests for crash diagnostics and security. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@beaverplot.com.
9. Accuracy Disclaimer
BeaverPlot is intended as a scanning aid and estimation tool only. All measurements and generated models are approximations and must be independently verified with physical measurements by a qualified professional before use in construction, permitting, or any professional application. Glucoplate Inc. is not responsible for errors, inaccuracies, or any damages resulting from reliance on App-generated data. Please refer to our Terms of Service for full details.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact and Complaints
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to make a complaint regarding our privacy practices, please contact us at support@beaverplot.com.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
